A State of Reserved Excitement

I just want to remind all of you what Daniel Briere did to our emotions last season before you get all excited about his possible return tomorrow night.

Last year when Briere first injured his abs against the Sharks on October 22 he missed a little over two weeks and 6 games before he was back in the lineup. After two games and a goal celebration that he claims did not cause the reaggrevation of his injury he was out for three weeks and missed 9 games. As part of his rehab he played with the God Damned Phantoms just before returning to the Flyers for almost a game before getting hurt again - this time for 3 months.

Just be warned. I like Danny and want him on the ice, but I still get worried every time I see him celebrate a goal. Take this news with a spoonful of cynicism.
