Here's what I'm thinking: send Mika Pyorala up/down to the Phantoms and bring Jared Ross down/up to the Flyers? Eh…eh…what do you think?

Fran and I were talking about this earlier, which you might gather from that tweet off to the right hand side. But with Gagne out until 2015 most likely we can't fake 3 scoring lines anymore. So let's just fess up and admit that we have 6 guys who should be scoring and make them all play together. And then pull some tricks on the third line:

JVR - Carter - Briere

Hartnell - Richards - Giroux

Carcillo - Ross - Powe

Asham - Betts - Laperriere

That third line right there is what Charlie Kelley might call a wild card. I don't know what's going to happen! Are they going to get scored on? Are they going to score? Are they going to bring a magnum of Barefoot onto the bench? No one knows! But at least it's not built to serve the exact same purpose as the 4th line. And that makes it exciting.

Little Jared Ross isn't having a great year in Adirondack but average size Mika Pyorala is just kind of out on the ice sometimes with the Flyers. Riley Cote can almost do that. Everyone thought Daniel Carcillo might be capable of a little offense this season but the guy's only had 7 shots on net so far. He's actually one of the better forecheckers we have. He gets pucks to Ross and Powe in the corners and eventually they get those pucks back to him and he scores 20 goals. Yeah? You down with that?

Good. Now if Blair Betts wasn't such a liar we'd be in business.

I like Ross with Carcillo just because he's dangly, even if it is AHL dangly. If anyone didn't know Powe was firing a snapper on that penalty shot last night I'd like to congratulate them on their first Flyers game.

I'm not sure that's how you would spell Kelly in this case. Luck for you, Charlie doesn't operate in "letters" and "words" like some fancy-pants lawyer might.

With Jones coming back up, leave the lineup lay until Betts gets back. But if Ross is called up, is there any good reason not to have Asham-Powe-Carcillo as the third. Two of those three have scored NHL goals this season, and on multiple occasions.
