Flyers Waste West Coast Weekend

This weekend marked the 5th and 6th games I've missed this season and apparently I didn't miss much. Catching up on the highlights last night it looked like Friday's game against San Jose might have been fun for you if Joe Thornton is your QB on your fantasy football team. Every Sharks highlight was of Joe Thornton standing right on the hash mark dicking around with the puck.

Chris Pronger gives up a 2-on-1 in a tied game and doesn't think he needs to hustle back? Just glide on into that situation and check out the scene?

I imagine at about midnight when things started falling apart your beer consumption became much more interesting to concentrate on.

And Saturday looks like it was as pretty rough night for the top teams in the East. The Caps, Sabres, Devils, Islanders, and Rangers all joined the Flyers in the L column (Of course the fucking Penguins won). But again, in watching the highlights, I noticed Pronger back checking (or not) on a 2-on-1 that was created as a result of him misplaying a puck at the offensive blue line:

The Coyotes didn't score on this one but Matt Carle's precious plus/minus is going to be in the shitter if Pronger keeps getting burnt and then doesn't even attempt to get back into the play.

So the Flyers were in two games until they let the points slip out of their hands in the third period this weekend. What a tragedy to miss. But don't worry, I'm back in town tonight, so expect good things against the Avalanche.

Oh yeah, and I'm sorry for those of you who chose Darroll Powe and Blair Betts in the Nose Donor contest. For the dozens of you that picked Andreas Nodl, how did you know?

It was pretty shitty indeed. You'd think two late games on the weekend would be excellent drinking atmosphere, when it actually turned into a crying session.

To Pronger's defense, I believe that first image is right after his skate broke and he fell flat on his ass. It was a fluke, and he had no chance to get there quickly after that.

Figures the very day Flyers.com points out we're 10-1 when Betts is in the fucking lineup he gets hurt and misses and a month.
