Jared Ross Captaining Up

This is not the kind of situation you want to find yourself in. Three minutes left in a game that's out of hand and the toughest guy in hockey, possibly, takes a blatant cheap shot at one of your guys. If you yourself are an enforcer it's "fine, I'd rather not, but let's go." If you yourself are a 5'9 165 lbs kid from Alabama who has three career fights (all losses) who also happens to be the captain it's more like "Jesus Christ I can't believe I'm about to do this I hope someone else jumps in before my face looks like a giant chewed bag of Big League Chew."

And that's exactly what happened in the Phantoms 5-0 over the Syracuse Crunch last night in Glens Falls.

Great job by Ross, as well as Mormina for jumping in. Although Mirasty didn't look like he was going to go Nasty on Ross he definitely could have done some serious damage to the skilled center.

This is just another great example of why the concept of a team means more in hockey than any other sport.
