Nodl a Future 40 Point NHLer

Confidence is a bitch. Patrick Thoresen didn't have it, and I'm afraid Andreas Nodl doesn't either. Not at the moment anyway.

Nodl, in my sexual opinion, was by far the most noticeable Flyer on the ice last night. The Austrian winger looks like he's put on 10-15 pounds since last year and was absolutely flying around out there. He was skating right around NHL defensemen. But once around them…that's where his problems exist.

You can tell he's hoping that something's just going to happen and he'll make a good play. There are guys that get the puck with a bit of open ice and are going to get at least a dangerous scoring chance no matter what and then there are guys who are going to get in that same position and just slid the puck towards the night or turn towards the safety of the boards and a cycle. They are the reason that the saying "All Swedish, no Portuguese" exists.

Andreas Nodl fucking crushed it in college. His freshman year he had 46 points in 40 games. He had 18 goals and was God Damned 25th in the country in scoring for all Division I college hockey players. Second among all freshmen. You know why? Because everyone was probably like "oh Andreas, you're so good let me do your homework and toss your salad while serving you wiener schnitzel." Now everyone's like "Andreas, we don't know if you're good enough."

Obviously that's no good for him. Anyone that fast should be scoring 20 goals in the NHL without a doubt. Last year I thought he was just some pencil-legged Euro but after watching him only last night I think this kid could dominate. No joke. I'm talking Renberg shit if you got someone to get him the puck and told him if he didn't get 5 shots a game you were going to ban him from listening to 'Rock me Amadeus" on his iPod.
