I Dislike Sergei Gonchar. Troll me.
Written by Ryan

When Sergei Gonchar scored the 4th goal in the Penguins Shhh Comeback last April so effortlessly he became my most hated Penguin. Crosby, Staal, Malkin, Orpik - I dislike them. But I think I always had it in me to hate Gonchar. Before the puck came to him you knew he was going to score. As he began to wind up you knew where it was going. And when it was sitting in the net behind Marty Biron you were laying on the floor, beer spilled everywhere.

When Sergei Gonchar laid a hit on one of the toughest little fuckers in the NHL a couple weeks ago that would have seen him suspended for 20 games if the hit had taken place in the OHL and he got off Scott free because of a supossed good reputation, he joined Steve Ott on the tallest podium I have as one of my most hated ambassadors of a game I luuuuv (Miller Lite commercial that is not funny because in real life he'd have no problem telling her that and then he'd bang her and the real problem would crop up when she started to catch on that he was lying just to bang her, which of course he has already done).

When he was the one who of course scored on a bullshit double minor to Simon Gagne I vomited on my pants. Malkin hits a guy with a history of concussions right in the head with his elbow and Gagne literally hugs him and the Flyers get a double minor. It was a stupid move by Gagne but something a secure ref should let slide considering the history of the player involved, its distance from the play, and a 2-0 to 1-1 swing.

And if you're a Pens fan on a last day troll go ahead and tear into my bitching in the comments because I'd be glad to have them. But I'm with Cal Clutterbuck on this one. Someone's going to get Gonchar. I originally thought what David Koci did in the '08 preseason was bullshit, but chances are it's something Gonchar had been earning dive by dive, cross check by cross check, indignant look by indignant look.

Fuck him and fuck his goolash peddling mother. I can't confirm anythng, but if you told me there was a nazi in the NHL I would guess that it was Sergei Gonchar. Hypothetically.

Richards hit on booth was NOT dirty, it was a clean, albeit viscous hit
Who's dirty?

Nothing at all like Richards hit on Booth, eh? He didn't get any special treatment for that dirty near-career ending hit, right?

5 years of last place finishes...

Net you sorry Pens fans 5 straight top 5 picks....a #1 Goalie included. SO you do have a horseshoe up your ass.

How bout we steal game 2 in the playoffs last year in Pittsburgh if it weren't for Bullshit arms. Too bad Carter and Richey were both playing with separated shoulders. We were still 30 minutes away from forcing game 7.

We'll see you again in April, this time you will go home. I'd give it 50% odds that it's the 4/5 matchup again.

Continue to roll your two lines into the ground, while we roll 4.

We'll make a trade for a D-man, or get Parent back, or both.

Lavs will get the Flyers humming at the right time. From the Olympics til the end we will be this year's hottest team.

hey flyers fans, quit crying about the pens. yeah, we won the cup. 3 since 1975...so whatever. and the pens are SMART with trades and draft picks. sure crosby was a gift but hey, we won it fair and square in the lottery. quit crying and bitching. ask your team to get out of their only goon it up mentality and MAYBE you guys can start to win. have a nice day.
the call

idk if anyone else will get this, but to natalie. the reason it was a goal scored on a rebound, yet taken back, was because after the first shot was when gagne hugged malkin. as soon as richards touches the puck after that, its a penalty. so it went shot, penalty, shot. thats why it actually is the right call. just saying.

No Goal Call -
Your post makes about as much sense as those ridiculous baby crap blue alternate jerseys the pens wear. The ref didn't have his hand up. The goal scored. That is an after the play ends call. Period.
Second point - the only penalty on that play is Malkin elbowing Gagne in the head. If refs made a call every time players hugged after a whistle, there would be nonstop whistles. Oh, Wait. There are.
- This is why watching the Pens is frustrating. If we are outplayed and lose- fine. But that is often not the case (see last year's entire playoff series). F the Pens!

No Goal Call
written by a guest, January 25, 2010
Natalie, I don't get where you are going with this back and forth crap on the no-goal call. It doesn't matter if the ref had their hand up at the time of the goal or not. The game moves so fast that they have that "intent to blow the whistle" thing. A lot can and did happen between the time of the penalty and the puck going in the net. But everthing that did or did not happen is not relivent. The penalty happened before the goal. That is all that matters. If it took the ref until after the goal to get his arm up, that is just the way it is. Do you deny that a penalty was in fact commited? If you say there was a penalty, everthing else doesn't matter. Just because the ref can't get his arm up and blow the whistle in the half seconds the game operates at doesn't mean they get away with one. That one was the fault of your player committing the penalty. And it wasn't like the Pens didn't give the Flyers enough chances to get it back on the powerplay. 1 for 9, ouch.

Ryan - If you wern't a Flyers fan, I might actually like you. I am totally with you on that Miller Lite commercial. Your hate for Gonchar is justified from your end. I love the Nazi reference. But in the end you are still a Flyers fan, therefore you are still a tool. But consider youself a leader of the tools. GO PENS!

TSN has a funny story on Asham saying Matt Cooke bit him in the scrum that involved Malkin and Hartnell. I can almost bet that will not receive as much attention as the alleged Hartnell bite on Letang. Just saying ...

Blown Richards Call
written by a guest, January 25, 2010
First I want to say that it was the flyers own fault that they lost the game yesterday. Peter Laviolette should have used his time out before one of the many power plays we had and tried to settle the guys down. We had periods of the game where the flyers looked like they forgot how to play.

However, saying that, the refs completely blew the Richards goal call. First, if you listen to the play by play (or just watch the play) you will notice that Richards scored on a REBOUND. If we were going to get penalized why wouldn’t the play have been blown dead when Giroux carries the puck in and shoots? You can also look at the ref by the goal crease as he calls the play a goal, which would have been fine to overturn the call IF EITHER REF HAD THEIR HAND UP TO CALL A PENALTY BEFORE RICHARDS SCORED. I noticed on the one replay NBC showed that when the goal was scored not one ref or linesman had their hand up to call anything. Just to make sure I went back and used that beautiful on demand rewind button and I was correct. So the no goal call and penalty was called after the Richards goal. It’s just interesting that in our last 2 games against shitsburgh we have 2 goals that were taken away from us…

Philadelphia Chanisaw Massacre

Next game vs. the 'Gooinz... Flyers starting lineup; Asham, Lappy, Carcillo, Pronger, Hartnell(yeah, temporarily a defenseman), Emery. The puck drops, the gloves fly off, every Penguin on the ice gets the piss beat out of him. The benches clear. Briere and Gagne bite Cooke and Letang. Pronger pulls Crosby's arms off like wings from a fly. Berube decks Bill McCreary while Lavy shoves a cheessteak up Bylsma's ass. And Emery chases 'Little Flower' around the rink flailing his goalie stick like a tomahawk and screaming psychotic obscenities. The Hansons grin.

Agreed Ryan...for as much as Pens fans bitched about Ovi's hit on Gonch in the playoffs last year, Gonch is no choir boy. Plus for us Caps fans you can add the title 'traitor.' That doesn't help his cause.
